Job B Vaughn photo album

The Society received a digital copy of Job B Vaughn family of Queensbury, NY. The album is in possession of Patti Bender of Kansas. She was wondering if anyone could help identify any of the photos of the unknown persons whose photos are shown below.

 

 

Here is some information regarding Job Beadleston Vaughan (1842-1920)

 

William M. Vaughn, son of James, was b. Kingsbury 27 Aug. 1801 and d. Queensbury 10 Jan. 1882, ae. 80-4-14, bur. Sunnyside Cem.  He m. 4 July 1822 Betsey Beadleston, b. 14 Feb. 1803 to Job and Sarah (Hubbell) Beadleston (q.v.); she d. 4 Jan. 1879, ae. 76, bur. with him.  He inherited 100 acres from his father at Concord and lived there for a time, then returned to Queensbury.  He is prob. the William Vaughn at north Queensbury in 1840 (101001/020101).  William Vaughn, farmer ($2200), was at Queensbury in 1850, three from Hosea Harrington, with Betsey and with Carmi, Phebe A., Sally M., James W. and Job.  At Queensbury in 1860 was William, farmer ($5000, $800) with Betsey and with Sarah, James and Job.  He was surveyor and civil engineer.

Children:

i  Achsah  b. and d. in 1823.

ii  Caroline H.  b. 8 Nov. 1824; d. 1891; m. Hosea Harrington.

iii  Carmi B.  b. 30 March 1830; m. (1) Prickly Pine Valley MT 10 Nov. 1874 Dora M. Wilkinson, dau. of Judge E. S. Wilkinson (WCM p. 122); m. (2) Jessie Howard; he owned gold and silver mines in Montana; child by first wife:  Ada.

iv  Phebe Ann  b. Erie Co. 26 Feb. 1833; d. 1898, bur. Glens Falls Cem.; m. 7 Feb. 1856 Bentley J. Harris, b. c. 1833, son of Lifelet Harris (q.v.); he d. Queensbury 15 May 1879, ae. 46, bur. with her; Bentley was a farmer at Queensbury in 1865, 1870, 1875 and 1880; in 1871, he was farming 64 acres, post office Queensbury; he left a will dated 15 April 1879; his widow was conducting a boarding house on May St., Glens Falls, in 1880; she later res. 8 Hudson Place, Sandy Hill; three children.

v  Sarah M.  b. 17 April 1835; d. 6 March 1865; m. Welcome J. Burdick, b. 9 March 1831 to Palmer and Patty (Burdick) (Davis) Burdick; he m. (2) 23 Sept. 1866 Sarah J. (—–) Jones of Caldwell; Sarah was school teacher at home in 1860; child:  Lillian (b. Alfred 2 July 1862; m. Frank S. Clark of Independence).

vi  James William  b. 4 July 1840.

vii  Job B.  b. 9 April 1842; m. May Marble; res. Wausau WI in 1916; children:  Bentley and Nellie.

The following photographs are persons believed related to the Vaughn family. All the individuals are believed to be from the Glens Falls / Queensbury area.  Some of the pictures were taken in the studios of of C.L. Lovejoy of Glens Falls and G.W. Conkey of Glens Falls.

As we all know one of the big problems with old photographs is lack on information identifying the unknown individuals. We thought we’d try this experiment to see if we get any responses.
